Made right here in the UK from beautiful Herdwick sheep wool, these dark grey mats are as practical as they are planet-kind.

The wool is treated with a non-toxic, biocide-free process, making it naturally moth-resistant and completely safe to use — again and again — as you stab, shape, and create.

Each mat is fully home compostable at the end of its long life (though we think it’ll be with you for quite a while yet).

Choose between:

• Double layer – approx. 2 cm thick

• Triple layer – approx. 3 cm thick

Over time, the layers will gently merge into one firm, cohesive mat. This version feels slightly firmer than our Eco Wool Mat and most similar in texture to our Earth Friendly Felting Mat, offering the perfect in-between for every project.

Important when 2D Needle Felting: When felting flat on the mat, as with any other mats, you will have to lift off your work regularly to stop it from getting fastened on. You can use a ‘barrier’ to create a thin finish and/or stop any fibre contamination. Try using a grease proof baking sheet or our wool viscose felt sheets. These will help but you will still have to lift off your work regularly.
